The African IXP Association (AFIX) will hold the 15th annual African Peering & Interconnection Forum (AfPIF) at the Kigali Marriott Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda from August 18-20 in partnership with the Rwanda Internet Community and Technology Alliance (RICTA).
AfPIF is an annual Internet industry conference that seeks to address Africa’s unique challenges and opportunities:
- Non-profit community event launched in 2010 to promote regional Internet ecosystem development and autonomy.
- Previously hosted in 13 cities: Nairobi, Lagos, Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Kigali, Abidjan, Accra, Dar es Salaam, Dakar, Casablanca, Cape Town, Maputo, and Mauritius.
- Attracts 300-500 attendees from the local, regional, and global Internet industry for three days.
We are now accepting proposals for presentations, panels, tutorials, and lightning talks that explore key challenges and opportunities in Africa’s Internet ecosystem. We welcome submissions on the following themes:
- Network interconnection & IXPs
- Peering and transit
- Content delivery
- Data centers & colocation
- Submarine cable systems
- Backbone, metro, and rural networks
- Internet policy & regulation
- Research & statistics about the African Internet
- Industry experiences & lessons learned
- Tools, technologies, and innovations
- Community and talent development
The deadline for submissions is June 15, 2026. Proposals will be reviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged!
